The turn of events reminds me of my favorite Paulo Coelho quote that says:
"When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."I guess my lucky stars were all present when this reader searching for something was directed to this blog site. :) Well, you might be curious so I'd let you in how the exchange of comments started. An anonymous commenter left an intriguing comment in my ISDAAN post and since I moderate all the comments, my first reaction was to ignore it and not published the comment but since he raised a valid point, not a spammer and took his time to read the post and leave a comment, I realized the most decent thing I need to do was to published it and give my reply. Below is a snippet of our first exchanges.
I'm just glad I did what I ought to do and that is to always treat everyone the same way I want to be treated. You never know, they could be an angel in disguise. Right, Mr Patrick? ;)
In the next few days, he showed up in some more posts and I can sense his attentiveness to details. I never saw it coming but the next comments were surprising and he's no longer Mr. Anonymous. :)
"When a GREAT ADVENTURE is offered, you don't refuse it" - Amelia EarhartOf course, it's a no brainer, I accepted the offer! :) Now, I have no more reasons to postpone these activities! The travel funds were transmitted in no time, the basic gears and more which I'll be using during the Mt Pulag climb were provided as well and now in transit coming from the US. I already booked my flights to Batanes and will also get the chance to stay at the expensive Fundacion Pacita (this was just a secret wishlist before, yay!). He's one generous soul, who offered more than what's necessary. I just hope, he'll be very pleased once I write down my experiences and showed him the beauty of these places.
Thanks a lot Mr. Patrick P., as I told you in my email, may your kindness return to you tenfold. :) Cheers and may we all live meaningful lives.
Shie Went to Town will soon tick off 2 from her Bucket List destinations. Yehey to that!!!
You can check my Bucket List here.
good job and God bless. Mt Pulag is a treat to the senses. looking forward to what you say about pulag and your over all experience when done with the assault.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hikari :) Keep posted!
Deleteyou got your Angel Patrick to grant your wish.. Lucky you, Mt. Pulag is a great destination to conquer.
ReplyDeleteyup! thanks Papaleng ;)
DeleteDying with envy here..
ReplyDeleteI've been offered a Mt Pulag trek this month but it was cancelled, more so I wasn't physically ready.
I've been in to Mt Climbing for the good part of the last 3 quarters of 2013, its the most physically exhausting yet addictive outdoor adventure for me so far.
I dont wanna climb Mt Pulag as an amateur, so I suggest you to be ready.
Luckily, Manila is bounded by provinces that have Mountains for minor climbs.
The Batanes trip, I'm sooo drooling on it.
Uunahan moko, sa valentines ko to gagawin, to celebrate anniv with my partner.
Anyways! good luck! and to your angel Mr Patrick, a one hell of a good guy. :)
Thanks for the advice Francis :) I'll be hiking the beginner's trail which is the Ambangeg and working out to prepare me for the climb. I'll be in Batanes a few days ahead of you. I'm sure you'll have a sweet time with your partner ;)
DeleteI commend Patrick for showing practicality and generosity, and for sponsoring you with 2 of your most sought after trips. I wish I had a reader who will show the same gesture to me..hehehe! But on a serious note, I hope Patrick will get to visit the Philippines real soon. There's nothing like seeing these destinations firsthand, right? :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Mai, who knows your reader is just waiting for the right timing ;)
DeleteYou surely would enjoy Batanes. I've been there last May and it was breathtaking. Cheers to your generous benefactor too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Franc, I'm really looking forward to it :)
DeleteFrom the outside looking in, it appears that the normal thing to do is to give credit to the do-gooder. Be that as it may, it behooves one to examine and find out what in this particular site inspired this benefactor to take that proverbial leap of faith and do such a random act.
ReplyDeleteFrom my point of view as a visitor of this site, much of the credit should also be given to the content and the blogger's sincerity in her attempt to offer us a glimpse or mirror into our own everyday lives... her attempts to constantly remind us not to take ourselves too seriously, and to just make time, and take the time to enjoy life.
No one among us is privy to the benefactor's thought process. We may perceive him to be either totally out of his mind, or just someone who's naturally generous, but I believe it's safe to assume that the blogger's effort to recognize and give credit does not go unappreciated :)
Thanks for the kind words Mr Anonymous, of course I know you ;))
DeleteI was not able to book flights to Batanes when they were on sale, but glad to know that you will be able to tick off these two amazing places soon.
ReplyDeleteI would say that "if there's a will, there's always a way". It came to my mind to someday set foot in Batanes but the geographical location is not just within proximity to me.
