Father's Day Treat at YAKIMIX

My sisters and I decided to treat PAPA to a sumptuous Japanese buffet lunch at Yakimix Macapagal. Together with some close relatives we arrived there 30 minutes before the usual lunchtime hoping to be seated right away but to our dismay the queue is long and I'm listed at No. 19 at the waiting list. I'm not surprised though, its Father's Day! We decided to wait and 30 min passed by, the waiting list just doubled! After 1 hour and 30 min of waiting, finally we can have our lunch! We are all set for Yakimix and already craving for Jap food, patience is really a virtue! I learned from the receptionist that as early as 8:00 am that day, customers were there to have their names listed at the reservation list and would just come back when the place opens at 11am. Well now we know how we should do it during special days like this.

I've read mixed reviews about Yakimix but that didn't stop me to try the place. The bad reviews were mostly people complaining about their poor service. Well, I'm not expecting excellent service for a japanese buffet lunch priced at a very affordable 580 pesos per pax and bottomless drinks at 55 pesos each. The place can really go crazy with a jam-packed crowd like this but the good thing is they refill the food as soon as possible and the food tasted authentic. C'mon guys if you really want excellent service, go to Spiral at Manila Pen and pay 3k++ per pax  or to Heat at Edsa Shang  and pay 2K, hehe just some unsolicited advice for the whiners!

For 580 pesos at Yakimix, you'll never go wrong!!! I'ts all worth it!!!

Sushis and sashimis go first for me. (Konti lang muna or else I'll be sorry later for indulging too soon.^^) The sashimis all tasted fresh!

This is for grilling using the smokeless grill on our table. You can indulge on the salmon and thinly sliced beef, they just tasted superb.

The smokeless grill works and its good that we don't smell like grilled food afterwards.

Some of the gourmet dishes on the buffet table that I failed to try coz I'm already full and stuffing myself more would just make me feel sick. It really looked tasty but I will try you next time.

Deserts!!! There are lots of cakes as well as a selection of  ice cream with different toppings, fruit salad and fresh fruits!!! Indulgence galore I must say!

It shows that everyone enjoyed the lunch and PAPA had a great time but as always we have to remind him to always take it easy on the food, his sugar level is always the culprit!

HAPPY FATHER's DAY PAPA !!!  We ♡ ♡ ♡ ♥ ♥ ♥ U!

Weekend Getaway at the Mountain Peak Resort

There's a hidden weekend family getaway that we've discovered last Saturday where everybody had a blast! It's a pretty new private hot spring resort located 600 meters above sea level on the southeastern part of Mt. Makiling which offers breathtaking view of Laguna de Bay. The only challenge is getting there but once you reach the spot, you'll be glad you didn't yield to the fear of traversing a steep slope. Upon reaching the peak and seeing the place, the agitated and nervous feeling would soon turn to awe and excitement.

We rented the place for an overnight 12 hour stay . The owner however allowed us to stay a little longer from 6 PM to 10 AM that morning with no extra cost as a token to us for celebrating her birthday that day. She became really very accommodating when she learned that we used to be neighbors when they were still living in manila. The place houses two connected units, the rental for a 12hr stay at the topmost  unit (MP1) is 12k while where we stayed (MP2) at the lower part costs 10K. Both units has 4 air conditioned rooms and 6 bathrooms and several balconies and verandas, 2 adult pools and 1 kiddie pool and unlimited use of karaoke.

just part of the steep slope that I'm talking about

Going downhill is the easy part but going up there especially at night will scare the wits out of anyone but that's the thrill ride you need to experience and yes, its all worth it!!! Just forget the smell of burnt tires and the sound of screeching tires, LOL!
